G20 Italy 2021 at the Crossroad between Closure and the Revamp of Multilateralism

Improving global governance
Mar 18, 2021 | German Development Institute, Fabrizio Botti

The international system is undergoing a major structural change against a background of transnational challenges - from the COVID-19 pandemic to climate change, digital transformation, and needs of an economic recovery. Fabrizio Botti suggests in the blog for the German Development Institute that the G20 Italian Presidency will confront these challenges through three broad and interconnected lenses of action - people, planet, and prosperity - coherent with the spirit that inspires the European New Green Deal and the Next Generation EU. The Italian Government led by Mario Draghi will seek to use the opportunity of the G20 leadership in 2021 to revamp multilateralism.
