Unmasking Disparities by Ethnicity, Caste and Gender

Reducing poverty and improving equity
Oct 21, 2021 | Oxford Poverty & Human Development Initiative, UNDP

In this joint report, the Oxford Poverty & Human Development Initiative and the UNDP provide estimates on multidimensional poverty for 109 developing countries, and trends for 80 countries between 2000 and 2020. It presents multidimensional poverty estimates disaggregated by ethnicity and caste, for 41 countries to identify who is – and how people are – being left behind, provides an intra-household analysis with a gender lens, and reveals how multidimensional poverty could amplify COVID-19 shocks, hurting education, employment, and livelihood.
