As Africaremains the continent most threatened by climate change and chronic foodinsecurity, science and technological innovation are vital focal areas forsustainable economic growth. The challenges are immense. If Africa wants to bemore than a consumer of technology and less dependent on the great powers, itmust take the steps needed to become an actor in technological competition.
