The energy transition from fossil fuels torenewable energy sources is the next great challenge that the EU will face. Tobridge the gap between employers grappling with skill shortages and workersfacing displacement, MarionBeaulieu and Sára Kende propose to create training programstailored to equip working-age citizens with the skills demanded by emergingsectors, which will help ensure a smooth transition. In their article for the IstitutoAffari Internazionali (IAI) they suggest that the opportunities offered by thegreen transition must be shared fairly, by ensuring that groupscurrently underrepresented in green jobs, such as women and olderadults, also receive training. In close collaboration with stakeholdersdefending the interests of these groups, more steps need to be taken to promoteinclusivity.
