2025 Worldwide Threat Assessment

Addressing vulnerability and promoting security
Jun 06, 2025 | Office of the Director of National Intelligence

The United States is confronting an increasingly complex national security threat environment. In addition to traditional military modernization, developments in artificial intelligence (AI), biotechnology, quantum sciences, microelectronics, space, cyber, and unmanned systems are rapidly transforming the nature of conflict and the global threat landscape, Jeffrey Kruse points out in his report for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. The report reflects the collective insights of the Intelligence Community (IC), which is committed to providing the nuanced, independent, and unvarnished intelligence that policymakers, military officers, and domestic law enforcement personnel need to protect American lives and U.S. interests anywhere in the world. All threats require a robust intelligence response, notably those where a near-term focus may help head off greater threats in the future. https://www.odni.gov
