Online scam operations and forms of digitally enabled human trafficking have surged dramatically. Despite many bilateral and multilateral efforts to combat such crimes, the root causes, driven by a confluence of global economic hardship, digital dependency, and human psychological vulnerability, are still not adequately addressed. There is thus a need to implement preventive and people-centric solutions alongside existing law enforcement frameworks.
