Stolen Generation – A Systematic Violation of Ukraine’s Future

Addressing vulnerability and promoting security
Aug 11, 2025 | Globsec

Since 2014, Ukraine has endured the systematic deportation and forced assimilation of its children, practices that were only recognised significantly in 2022, notes Megan Gittoes in her article for Globsec. She suggests that Russia’s weaponization of population displacement and the deportation of children is one of the most devastating assaults on a civilian population in modern European history. Technology based solutions such as Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other specialised online platforms ensure that investigations into potential war crimes committed by the Kremlin and Russian forces are taking place, focused on protecting civilians and bringing perpetrators to justice. Any future reconstruction of Ukraine will depend not only on infrastructure but on the restoration of its human capital to ensure long-term economic and social stability. https://www.globsec.org
