A Networked Response? Exploring National Humanitarian Networks in Asia

Addressing vulnerability and promoting security
Sep 29, 2013 | Active Learning Network for Accountability and Performance, Asian Disaster Reduction and Response Network

The operation of humanitarian networks at the national level is a vital component of regional resilience. This joint study by the Active Learning Network for Accountability and Performance (ALNAP) and the Asian Disaster Reduction and Response Network (ADRRN) explores ways to engage with national NGOs, and to improve links between national, regional, and international humanitarian networks. Focusing on Asia - and drawing on case study research in the Philippines, Bangladesh and Afghanistan - the report describes networking at the national level, and draws conclusions about the factors influencing the success of national level networks.
